Master bathroom bath tub

The reality of decision making is here. We had to have a bathtub picked out this week. We had decided on a free standing tub, and were hoping for cast iron if our budget would allow. After a lot of internet searching we decided to hit some plumbing stores to see what they had that we could look at and sit in.

I will admit it was a bit frustrating. The stores we looked at didn’t want to help us, they wanted to work with our builders. But we are doing a lot of the leg work to help keep costs down. Anyway in the second store we found our tub.

It is cast iron which we were wanting. Yay! We were pretty open to shape. We just wanted it comfortable. And it is.

Then we had to pick out a faucet. Also freestanding. I found this and loved it. I actually have not seen it in person so I hope I love it. Ha! But I did see a very expensive one just like it.

There are two sizes of the tub. It is the reve collection by kohler. We ordered the larger tub. The floors are going to be grey stained concrete. The walls will be white and the ceiling will be beams with whitewashed wood underneath. I think the modern tub will work in the rustic setting. I am starting to see it in my mind.

Happy Sunday 🙂

On your mark, get set, go.

It has been a very busy month, every friday I am completely amazed that an entire week has gone by.

The pad was finished about three weeks ago, then came the rain. Which I am so thankful for. It slowed us up a week, but was so needed. The concrete guys came out and put the forms up for the outside of the house. So now we can actually see the the foot print of the house. At first it looked really tiny. With the car port and the screened in porch it is 6300 sq feet. It is not tiny, but it did look pretty little.

I took a pic of the kiddos in front of the fire place.

Then they started on the plumbing. The plumbing that is going to go through the slab. There is so much to it. The measurements have to be dead on because our floors down stairs are going to be concrete. No sub floor.
Last week we were in a bit of a hurry to get our bath tub and faucet picked out. We needed the schematics, so they could get it all plumbed. I love our tub. I will find a pic of it and put it up here soon.

My little C man has spend a lot of time at the site. He has taken to wearing a measuring tape most all the time. And yesterday was sitting right in with the plumbers and asking them question after question. They assured me he was fine. But I think they were just being nice. 🙂
Here he is with one of our Builders. They were checking measuring tapes.

It is still a little unreal that it is finally begun.

Well I better run, we had piano theory test and a football game today, where big C scored his first ever touchdown. It was very exciting!!! Now I have a mountain of laundry and a very dirty kitchen. Thanks for reading, happy weekend
